Holding On!

It's Monday afternoon and it's not that I don't have anything to report, rather it's that things are changing so quickly I'm not sure what to record.  At this moment, we're still assigned here in Canberra, however, we've been asked to basically, avoid contact and to not gather in groups.  The Institute classes will be held online, hopefully, and we're going to have a virtual FHE tonight.  Joseph Stubbs is coming over in a little while and will try to help us use Zoom to contact the students.  I had a session this morning with Sister Manning and I have a very thin understanding of  how the app works.

Yesterday was a bit weird because we stayed here at the flat.  We weren't authorized to have the sacrament so we just stayed in, read and Evelyn took a walk in the evening.  The missionaries came by for a few minutes but they stood on the porch rather than coming inside.  This afternoon we found out that Elder Leishman is being transferred to Orange and Sister Christensen is going to Sydney.

I spoke with President Runia last night and I can't imagine how much stress he's under.  His son, who was serving in Europe and has asthma was being sent home (to Sydney) and was arriving 3 hours before the quarantine requirements of 14 days for any traveler was being implemented.  He told me that he wasn't sure if the new missionaries that are supposed to arrive on Wednesday, would even be sent, and if they are, how do you quarantine them?   So many questions, so few answers.

It's a beautiful Autumn day with thge temperatures in the mid 70's and dipping down into the 40's at night.  Would have been a nice time to be out and about but.....

We did go to the gym this morning but we were cautious to wipe down any surfaces before, and after, we touched them.  I do feel very healthy at this time and hope to avoid coming down with the terrible virus.

It was such a blessing to wake up yesterday and see the video post that President Nelson put out.  What a comfort to have a prophet of God who knows, and speaks with the Lord on our behalf.  Isn't it wonderful that he led the church by focusing on a "Home Centered" church before it became a necessity!  Thank God.
